City police have charged one of their own with several criminal offences.
In a briefly worded media release Friday afternoon, Brockville police said an officer was "arrested and charged with several Criminal Code offences" Thursday.
Police said they were not releasing the officer's name "to protect the victim's privacy."
They also did not indicate the nature of the criminal offences the officer is now facing.
"Brockville police will not disclose any further information on this case, in light of the fact that this matter is before the courts," the statement read.

it funny if it was someone else thay have no promblem release his or her name
No they wouldn't release the name of someone because of the nature of the offence in relation to the victim.
Do not print victims name and that protects them. DO print officers name - the public has a right to know! Anyone else charged with such a crime would be. A blatant EXCUSE to self protect their own. The public should NOT except such lame excuses from the people who are SUPPOSED to serve and protect us! It is about time they actually did that, not just be the ones being arrested themselves. Seriously why is the public not more appalled by police actions. Their actions speak loudly that reform IS NEEDED!!! SPEAK UP PEOPLE
